On December 19, 2024, the second master's program of the KOICA Climate Degree Program at Incheon National University was successfully completed.
On Dec. 19, 2024, the second master's program of the KOICA Climate Degree Program at Incheon National University was successfully completed. In this course, a total of 22 trainees from 16 countries, including Algeria, Cameroon, Fiji, and Uganda, obtained their master's degrees and were reborn as professionals in response to global climate change.
The KOICA Climate Degree Training Program at Incheon National University provides trainees with comprehensive education that encompasses theories and practices related to climate change. Through this, trainees are educated to have the ability to effectively solve the climate change problem, which is rapidly increasing in importance worldwide. In this course, trainees had the opportunity to design and develop projects to respond to climate change through the study of their master's degree thesis and the preparation of a Project Concept Paper. Through this, it was an opportunity for trainees to cultivate practical field problem-solving skills and further develop their competencies as experts.
In cooperation with KOICA, Incheon National University has been operating master's and doctoral programs for selected public officials from 62 developing countries since 2022. This program is a curriculum that takes advantage of Incheon National University's strengths in the climate and environmental fields, and aims to develop the ability of trainees to contribute to solving global climate and environmental problems. In addition, in addition to the curriculum, various comparison and activities such as field trips, seminars, cultural experiences, and Korean language education are also operated together to enhance understanding of Korea and gain field experience to enrich the learning and experience of trainees.
The 22 graduates produced through the KOICA Climate Degree Program's second master's program are expected to play a key role in each country's major climate change policies and project development and implementation and grow into global leaders for sustainable development.
