Application procedures for obtaining a student visa
- Eligibility: All admitted international students of Incheon National University residing outside of Korea
- Place to apply: Embassies or consulates in students' home country or place of students' final education
- Required documents
- 1) 1 copy of visa application [download]
- 2) 1 copy of passport
- 3) 1 photo
- 4) Application fee
- 5) Certificate of Acceptance (Can be issued at the Office of International Affairs)
- 6) Certificate of business registration of Incheon National University
- 7) Documents proving family relations
- 8) Documents proving final level of education
- 9) Documents proving financial ability (The amount of money equivalent to KRW 20,000,000Won)
- 10) Certificate of visa issuance (For the following 5 countries only)
Countries that require confirmation of visa issuance:
- China, Cuba, Syria, Macedonia, and Kosovo
International students with Indian nationality are only required to submit the documents above from 1)~5) and 9) in accordance with the Agreement on Simplifying Visa Procedures between the government of Korea and the government of the Republic of India.
Note 1
All international students must obtain student visas in their home counties before their entry. Students should be aware that it is disallowed to change a tourist visa to a student visa within Korea.
Note 2
All international students must apply for an alien registration card, even if they are student visa holders. Unless the visa holders apply for alien registration, their student visas will be cancelled or they will be fined.
Foreigner registration
- Eligibility: All foreign residents who get student visas in their home country
- Place to apply: Incheon Immigration Office
- Required documents
- 1) 1 copy of Application for Alien Register Card [Download]
- 2) 1 copy of passport
- 3) 1 photo
- 4) Application fee (KRW 30,000)
- 5) A certificate of tuition fee payment (before admission) or certificate of enrollment (after admission)
- 6) A medical examination report (Only applicable for the following countries)
International students from the following 16 countries are high risk of tuberculosis and must submit the medical examination report after entering Korea by visiting a local public health center. - China, Sri Lanka, the Russian Federation, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Nepal, Indonesia, Pakistan, Mongol, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Malaysia
Note 1
After your entry on a student visa, you must complete your alien registration. If you fail to register, your visa will be revoked or you will be fined.
